BOTOX® Cosmetic

BOTOX® Cosmetic at our Annapolis, Maryland treatment center is carefully administered to ensure beautiful and natural-looking results. Restylane® is injected with a fine needle into the treatment area and the results should be instantaneous with no scarring. Treatment usually takes about 30 minutes, and results last from six months to a year.

Radiesse™

Formerly known as Radiance™, Radiesse™ is safe and unique FDA-Approved filler that is used to reduce deep lines and wrinkles around the mouth and nose, as well as to provide fullness and volume to the lips. It is composed of calcium hydroxylapatite, a natural human substance, so there should be no need for an allergy test. Radiesse™ is known for stimulating natural collagen growth, causing new tissue to develop, thereby extending the results. Radiesse™ is also used to treat facial lipoatrophy, a condition common to HIV sufferers in which the cheeks appear hollow.

Treatment with Radiesse™ typically takes less than 30 minutes, and results are instantaneous, and even more evident within a week. Results can last up to two years with Radiesse™.

Chemical Peel

A chemical peel is a non-invasive treatment that uses a chemical solution to eliminate the outer skin layers, encouraging new cell growth and the production of clearer, more youthful-looking skin. There are basically three different levels of chemical peel treatments, designed to treat a range of skin damage, from minimal imperfections to deeper, more noticeable skin conditions. Our skin care specialist will go over the types of chemical peel available at our Annapolis office, and discuss which one might be best for your treatment.

Chemical peels are typically performed on the face; however they can also treat the arms, hands, neck, and chest.

Depending on the type of chemical peel you undergo, the procedure generally only takes about 15 minutes to perform. However, some treatments can last up to an hour or more if larger areas are being treated. During the procedure, patients feel a brief burning sensation and may experience some reddening or swelling afterward. The length of recovery time is dependent on how many areas of the skin are being treated, and whether you are receiving one of the lighter or deeper types of chemical peel . Some patients may be able to return to their normal routines within a day, for others it may take several days.

Microdermabrasion

Microdermabrasion is performed at our Maryland aesthetic center to help our patients achieve a healthy, youthful appearance by removing the outer layer of dry, dead skin cells. The skin is exfoliated using a handheld instrument that sprays small particles of crystals across the skin. The crystals and dead skin layer are then gently removed through mild suction.

The microdermabrasion treatment system can improve a number of skin conditions, including:

• fine lines and wrinkles
• thickened, dry areas of skin caused by sun exposure and the aging process
• uneven pigmentation
• enlarged or clogged pores
• mild acne scars

To achieve the best results with microdermabrasion, a series of about five to 12 treatments over the course of several months is generally recommended. The reason for this is that microdermabrasion not only removes the dead, outer layer of skin, it actually encourages the production of new, healthier skin with larger concentrations of elastin and collagen, both vital components to enhance the complexion.

Microdermabrasion is not only effective, it is also convenient. The treatment typically causes very little pain or discomfort, and each microdermabrasion session at our Maryland center generally lasts about 40 minutes. Patients can usually get back to their daily routines immediately after the procedure. The skin will most likely have a red or pink tint for about a day after the treatment, and patients are advised to strictly adhere to the technician's instructions on taking care of the treated areas after each session.

Microdermabrasion is not recommended for sensitive or reddened skin, rosacea, or those patients who have a predisposition to skin-pigmentation problems.

Dermabrasion

Dermabrasion has proven effective in treating skin damaged by acne, injury, and natural aging. By using a specialized, rotating instrument, the top layer of the skin is resurfaced and polished down to an undamaged level. Wrinkles, sun damage, scarring, and other issues can be reduced with dermabrasion. The procedure typically takes about 15 minutes to an hour to perform. The skin will be slightly swollen following the procedure, however this will dissipate during recovery.

Fat Grafting

Microlipoinjection, or fat grafting, utilizes fat cells taken from donor sites on your own body to act as cosmetic fillers in facial rejuvenation. Fat collected from an area such as your abdomen, thighs, or buttocks, is processed and injected into the treatment area in thin strands. Lip augmentation and fine line reduction can be achieved with fat grafting. The treatment can also add fullness and volume to the cheeks and chin.

Fat grafting results typically last about six months or more. There is usually some swelling and bruising associated with fat grafting, however this should dissipate three to five days following the procedure.
